Sabine's Magician~

~Fantasy Story by tikay~ ....for blingee pals..............................~ Her friend Frederick came by now about once a month now, he brought her brother and any news of progress...she had payed him with everything she owned, her rooms were emptying out of furnishings and her coffers were no longer filled with jewels and expendables. Her brother was completely unaware of all her sacrifices. He now had the mind of a forest creature, innocent, and wild, he frolicked about at the magicians retreat, just behind the palace. They had not yet been found out by the local population, though once Lamar was almost shot down by hunters who spied him in the brush. The magician worked in earnest trying to release Lamar from the Witches spell. It had been several years and Sabine was running out of ways to pay him....but now, having known one another so intimately for these years, he was asking her to become his bride. But Sabine loved no one in that way and only her brother, had her heart...which was slowly turning to stone with every passing day that she could no longer share her deepest secrets with him, as she always had growing up together. Her servants were working for bed and board,alone and she worried that one day they would expose them for pay, but, as yet they were loyal and had been paid very well in the beginning...before the tragic spell. The Huffington witch had been killed by Sabines father, who died shortly thereafter, leaving only a memory...and a responsibility to Sabine, of her beloved family member, her longest confidant and best friend. She now considered the marriage to Frederick, what else was she going to do,with not much left to pay him with? What would secure Lamars future? Sabine knew that she had to help her brother regain his former life, his mind and his human status. She told Frederick that she would consider his proposal, and let him know upon his next return.
