First Sunday in Advent. The first candle is lit on the advent wreath. The color for this Sunday is purple. For waiting and for royalty. Purple was the color kings wore because it was so costly back in the time of Christ. So for purple to be the main color of Advent is very fitting. We are waiting for His return and He is the King of Kings! As we light the first candle on the advent wreath let us remember and reflect on what Christmas is truly about and that is the savior of mankind came into the world to save us from our sins if only we will believe in Him and give our lives over to Him, for His guidance and direction rather than our own.
