Love Vintage things

I love to make Blingee's for my friends. And I love Victorian/Vintage Blingee's. I am not into GOTHIC when it is blood and horror that is NOT what Gothic is but seems to be what a lot of people on Blingee think it is! More about what is real Gothic below.

 The Gothic period in history was a period wherein the Gothic art was a style of Medieval art 1100's AD to in some place 1500's A.D..  With knights, ladies, castles, Cathedrals etc.  It was a very religious time where Christ was the center of it. Beautiful Books of Hours were made during this period in history. Gargoyles were used to ward off evil spirits as well as functional water spouts on Church's and Cathedrals, architecture was  filled with pointed arches and a light airy feeling as well as Vaulted ceilings which were the main forms of architecture, Stained glass windows were popular.  It seems all was about the church although heavy in looks and usually symmetrical in architectural style... but not horror. This art developed in Northern France out of Romanesque art in the 12th century ( about 1130-1140's) AD, led by the concurrent development of Gothic architecture. It spread to all of Western Europe. In the late 14th century the sophisticated court style of International Gothic developed, which continued to evolve until the late 15th century . In many areas, especially Germany, Late Gothic art continued well into the 16th century  before giving way to Renaissance art. Yet even today Gothic art is used in church. There were Goth's a horrible tribe of people that tried to destroy mainly Italy  and the Italians were not at first fond of the "Gothic" Movement.. and gave it the name Gothic which stuck.  However it was when it first started out it was called "Modern Architecture" but after the the Italians named it The "Gothic" name stuck and so did the period in Art History today always referred to as "the Gothic Period"  and has often been revived as Neo Gothic Art often found in Churches even today. St. Patrick's  Cathedral in NYC, NY, USA is a beautiful example of both Gothic and Neo Gothic Architecture. Well now you have a little Art History lesson.  But Goth's and Gothic Art are not the same thing. Gothic is really much more romantic and beautiful. Not mean, dead and evil. As matter of fact it was to ward off evil. Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and other fairy tales depict the Gothic attitude in this time period. Although not written by the Brothers Grimm they did bring them into popularity in the 19th century.  Okay enough on Gothic Art. Although I hope you found this interesting and informative.

 I either vote 5 stars or don't vote at all.. Other than Gothic If I see good non horror Gothic that is well done I'll vote on it and give it 5 stars and usually comment on it as well.  I abide by the blingee rules for many children on this site an do not put on nudes. Nor will I vote on those, I believe in being respectful of all. As long as their is a drape over them that is fine like little cupids.

I love my friends here on Blingee. They are the best! My name is Connie but if you want to call me Joy that is ok too. I sign my Blingee's I create as "by Connie". My major in college was Art and have judged numerous art shows, been in juried art shows mainly when I was in College. I became ill and could no longer be around the art products, art is filled with toxic chemicals. Therefore Blingee is another way I can create again and is chemical free!  I love it. It is like an electronic collage. What is a serendipitous and a wonderful surprise is  All my dear friends I have here.  What fun! What a blessing I only came to create and found loving and good friends here.
