Victorian Christmas Eve.
A Victorian family with four children had practiced their Christmas carols for a week or two, ready for Christmas Eve. There was great excitement as they dressed warmly, for there was a light snow falling. They knew the homes where older people and those that were sick, lived in. They stopped outside these homes and sang with great enthusiasm, and were joined by passers by and children from nearby homes. Some of the residents came out at the end of their presentation with little gifts or lollies (candy) for the children. They really looked forward to the celebration when they returned home at last!
