Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg #7
*********************************************************************** Buenos Dias Argentina: According to the Guinness Book of Records, the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg is the largest model railway system in the world. The 1:87 scale world is constantly growing. This impressive section of Patagonia was built together with the Martinez family near Buenos Aires. Patagonia, a journey to the end of the world. The focus of model building is on the western Patagonian part and ends with the Andes chain, the most famous mountains Torres del Paine, Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. The unique spectacle in the middle of the miniature mountain world is the calving Perito Moreno glacier, which pushes its chunks of ice into a real pool of water with a roar. The “Ingeniero Jacobacci” train station is at the center of the depiction. It is on the single-track broad-gauge railway (1667 mm) from Viedma to Bariloche, which is served by the "Patagonia Express". With Cape Horn the southernmost point is reached, which can be seen as a coastal strip in the background. Here the visitor should be scared and anxious, whether the stormy sea, which grabs the blanks of the ships with the force of its roaring waves. Icebergs and ice shelves herald the South Pole. Since there is no railway there, icebreakers and penguins will keep things moving.
